TWEED AND FRIDAY - PHASE 8 |
December 15, 2004
Finished!
I have decided that this carving will be displayed in a frame/shadowbox arrangement, on black, or another suitable dark colour, to be chosen in consultation with the commissioners of the work.
A framed mounting is preferrable for this piece due to the nature of the relief carving, which is meant to be viewed from as close to an eye-level vantage point as possible. Also, since the dogs are carved in high relief, the viewer might approach them from the side - which would afford a distorted impression.
The frame will encourage a viewing of the work which is most beneficial. It should be wall-mounted at an average, eye-level height.
Till next time,
Shane
