TWEED AND FRIDAY

TWEED AND FRIDAY - PHASE 5

In this phase, I have had to make some decisions about the exact angle of view I will utilize in the execution of the figures.

The pictures were taken from an angle above the dogs, but I feel that the sculpture works best from an angle level with Friday and slightly above Tweed. This has involved a few adjustments to the profile of the dogs, and means that I must now depart from an exact reproduction of the pictures, and carve the dogs so that they seem 'right'. The pictures will still be used for reference, of course.

I think I will carve Friday's mouth in the closed position, but that will require a little more thinking ...
