The piano is now finished, complete with individually crafted black keys and hand-rubbed varnish. The same finish was used on the piano stool and card table. The sheet music and cards are made from thin layers of mammoth ivory. The base, as yet unvarnished, is constructed from a mahogany underlay and individual mahogany boards. They were left a little rough and have been dinged and marked to simulate the rough bar-room floor.
