THE SHOOTING OF DAN McGREW - PHASE 10

February 21, 2002

Dan McGrew is done. In more ways than one ... :)

The ivory portions have been refined, sanded and polished. The hands were exceedingly difficult, due to the small size and delicacy of the carving. The right hand is carved together with a small handgun.

The coat has been further refined with undercuts, sanded, and two coats of a combination dark oak stain/varnish applied. The same process was used with the hat, also created from mahogany.

The only portion of the sculpture remaining is the grouping of the miner and the Lady Known As Lou. I will return to it in a few months when 'Yukon Seasons' is complete.

Take care for now,

Shane
