CARIBOU: LEFT ANTLER
PHASE 1

January 30, 2008

After considerable deliberation, I have settled on the design elements which will represent the Vuntut Gwitchin side of the conflict, which I will entitle, 'Caribou': caribou antlers, the Porqupine River, and a caribou calf.

I will use the shapes of the caribou antlers found on these sets as well as the antlers taken from a third set (from which I will use the skull for casting, replacing the battered, partial skulls of the locked sets). I have drawn the antlers in three scales and have applied them as designs to the outer side of the antlers. These antler patterns merge with a river, which flows along the underside of the antlers. The antlers will be carved in high relief and the river will be carved into the antlers.

The caribou calf will find a place on the bronze skull, representing 'Caribou'.

Till next time,

Shane
