FARO FANNIN - PHASE 8 |
February 12, 2001
Finished.
Which is a good thing, because we are leaving for Reno later today!
Plenty of detail work in this phase. Dwayne was a big help in the sanding and construction of the stand. His father, Chris Cull, a marvelous carpenter, helped in the building of the crate for transport. I'd also like to mention Miranda and Jerry for their spotting of areas that required attention. Many thanks all!
As I said before, it is certainly preferred to have several weeks or months for the finishing process, so that the piece can sit, and so that the artist can come back to the piece with fresh eyes. In lieu of that, here's to honest friends and family!
You may be able to see that I have not polished this piece. Instead, I have opted for the satin look that comes with fine sanding. I think it gives a natural, more pleasing look.
Take care for now (2 days to the show!),
Shane
