FARO FANNIN - PHASE 4 |
January 24, 2001
The internal structure of the sheep has been outlined in this phase and the design at the far left section of the antler is finished.
During a discussion with Jerry Kortello about the left side, which has seen several designs and revisions, he thought he 'saw' a stump coming out of the double tine. I drew the stump in and played with the direction of the roots and log. I liked the idea of using another stump as a way of balancing the composition. As you can see in the picture, the stump comes straight out of the side of the scene so that we are looking at a profile of the root system. The roots closest to us are on this side of the sheep and the roots farthest from us terminate on the far side of the sheep.
The background around the sheep and upper portion of the root system, is now blocked in. It will become a hill, accross a valley, just beyond the edge of the bluff behind the sheep. The texture lines, indicating the contours of the hill, will be added later.
Till next time,
Shane
