The polishing complete, I set about, with Bela's kind help and milling machine, to carve out the impression of the bottom of the slabs into the mahogany base. The slabs were then inset into the base. Following this the base was edged with a router, sanded and clear coated with a hand rubbed varnish.

Dried and finished today, I have taken the work to the Yukon Art Centre Gallery for the upcoming Arctic Winter Games 2000 show. The show opens March 5, 2000. If you are in the Whitehorse area, please plan to join us for the opening reception from 2-5 PM.
