Letter from Elaine Taylor, Minister of Tourism and Culture, YTG

Minister of Tourism and Culture, YTG - Letter
December 17, 2008

Dear Mr. Wilson:

With the long-awaited return of "Yukon Seasons" to the Canada Games Centre the beginning of December, I wish to thank you again on behalf of the Government of Yukon for your gift donated to the Yukon Permanent Art Collection.

It was a pleasure to attend the unveiling on December 2, 2008, resulting in the artwork rightfully returned to its place of honour at the Centre. It was also a pleasure to congratulate you in person for this beautiful piece. I especially appreciate your acknowledgement for the support you received from the Department of Tourism and Culture these past years, in particular the encouragement you received from former curator Ruth McCullough. Your thoughtful gesture will inspire us to continue our efforts to assist Yukon artists. It was also a reminder of the progress you have made since you first started carving and of your continuing generosity in donating works of art to Yukon communities.

Once again, congratulations on the return of "Yukon Seasons." I look forward to seeing more of your work in the years ahead.

Sincerely,
Elaine Taylor
Minister of Tourism and Culture
