Yukon Seasons at the Canada Games Centre Tuesday. The artwork, which at one point was a theft target, was removed for restoration after the June 24 fire at the Centre, and was reinstalled Tuesday. All the community artworks have now been reinstalled.

The artist of a recently-returned antler carving says he is thrilled the story has a happy ending.

Shane Wilson is the artist behind 'Yukon Seasons,' a carved set of antlers that had been stolen from the Canada Games Centre last September.

The antlers were returned to the RCMP by an anonymous person Tuesday.

Sculptor Deeply Saddened By Theft

A moose antler sculpture, valued at $50,000 and was three years in the making, has been stolen from the Canada Games Centre.

"It was a gift to the people of the Yukon," local artist Shane Wilson, who donated the piece to the city, said in an interview this morning.

The donation was inspired by Ruth McCullough, who has contributed a lot to the Yukon arts community, Wilson said. He pointed to her work in establishing the territory's Permanent Art Collection and other initiatives.

Wilson, who's out of town, learned of the theft this morning after his wife heard about it on the radio.
