TORCHES MEET AGAIN - The Canada Winter Games torches were reunited at noon today by the S.S. Klondike. They arrived by a sled dog team, a skier and a runner, and were passed on from the older athletes to the younger ones.

Above John Taipana and Simon Tapardjuk take part in the torch relay for the 2007 Canada Winter Games. Lit from the Centennial Flame on Parliament Hill, the torch travelled to the most northernly point of the country where it was used to light three torches carved from caribou antler, one for each of the territories. Each torch then made its way through a territory before returning to Whitehorse for the opening ceremonies.
