Torch carriers: Community youth.

The torch relay was kicked off by a community barbecue, followed by the torch lighting. Jim Antoine, Pan North Ambassador to the 2007 Canada Games, was the guest speaker. The torch was carried through the town by local youth. Canada Games pins, hats, tattoos and stickers were handed out to participants and spectators. Youth who were taking part in the Mackenzie Youth Leadership river trip from Wrigley to Norman Wells, were flag attendants at the Wrigley Torch Relay. One member of this group, Josh Baton from Wrigley, had the honour of lighting the torch to start the relay. This group then transported the torch by canoe to Tulita and then on to Norman Wells over a two week duration.

Porteurs: jeunes de la communauté

Un barbecue communautaire a lancé le Relais du flambeau de la collectivité, suivi de l’allumage du flambeau. Jim Antoine, ambassadeur pan-nordique des Jeux du Canada 2007, était le conférencier invité. Les jeunes ont porté le flambeau dans les rues de la ville. Des épinglettes des Jeux du Canada, des chapeaux, des tatouages temporaires et des autocollants ont été remis aux participants et aux spectateurs. Les jeunes qui ont participé à la descente en eaux vives du Mackenzie Youth Leadership, de Wrigley à Norman Wells, ont ensuite participé au Relais du flambeau de Wrigley en tant que porteurs de drapeau. Un des membres de l’équipe, Josh Baton de Wrigley, a eu l’honneur d’allumer le flambeau afin de débuter le relais. L’équipe a ensuite effectué un voyage de deux semaines afin de porter le flambeau en canot jusqu’à Tulita et ensuite jusqu’à Norman Wells.
