Ten torch carriers and 20 flag bearers participated in a 5.0 kilometer torch relay beginning at the recreation complex, past the trail head of the NWT portion of the Trans Canada Trail, along the boardwalk overlooking the Slave River and ending at the Queen Elizabeth Park for a short ceremony and community barbeque.

Dix porteurs de flambeau et vingt porteurs de drapeau ont participé à un Relais du flambeau de cinq kilomètres, dont le trajet était le suivant : du centre de loisirs vers le début de la portion du Sentier transcanadien située aux T.N.-O., pour ensuite suivre le trottoir de bois longeant la rivière des Esclaves, jusqu’au parc Queen Elizabeth, où ont eu lieu une brève cérémonie et un barbecue communautaire.
