Torch Carriers: Park Days participants.
The torch was displayed at the Auyuittuq National Park office during Parks Day in the morning and at the camp in the afternoon. The public were given a chance to have their photo taken with the torch. Billy Etooangat spoke at Parks Day and Manasa Evic, the mayor of Pangnirtung, was a special guest at the event. The torch was passed around by all participants.

Le flambeau a été exposé au bureau du parc national d’Auyuittuq en matinée lors de la Journée des parcs et au campement en après-midi. Le public a donc eu l’occasion d’être pris en photo avec le flambeau. Billy Etooangat a prononcé un discours pour la Journée des parcs et Manasa Evic, le maire de Pangnirtung, était l’invité spécial de cette journée. Tous les participants se sont transmis le flambeau à tour de rôle.

Using three boats to transport 16 torch relay participants to the entrance of Auyuittuq National Park that is 31 kilometers away from the community of Pangnirtung.
Before the start of the12 kilometer hike to Arctic Circle, David Argument (Park Manager for Auyuittuq National Park) had a speech to the participants on the importance of the torch relay. Several other participants took the opportunity to speak.
Every participant had a chance to carry the torch to the Arctic Circle. A few of the participants had difficulties in crossing rivers, which resulted three of the participants deciding to withdraw before reaching the Arctic Circle marker.
Upon arrival to the Arctic Circle, participants had a chance to take photographs with the torch along aside the Arctic Circle marker and then had lunch before heading back to Mount Overlord to go back to Pangnirtung.
