The Community event commenced with a gathering at the Qamannituaq Recreation Centre and the torch was carried around the community, gathering community members as it went and concluded with a presentation at the Recreation Centre.

From the Rec Centre, the torch was transported by four wheel Drive and ATV to the 20 foot high commemorative inukshuk on the shore of Baker Lake marking the geographic centre of Canada. A group photo shoot with the torch and its' designated carriers perched on top of the Geographic Center Commemorative Inukshuk overlooking the geographic centre of Canada.

Un rassemblement au centre de loisirs de Qamannituaq a donné le coup d’envoi à la manifestation. Le flambeau a ensuite été transporté au sein de la collectivité et les résidants se sont joints au relais, qui s’est terminé par une présentation au centre de loisirs.

À partir de cet endroit, le flambeau a été transporté par véhicule à quatre roues motrices et par véhicule tout terrain jusqu’aux berges du lac Baker, où se trouve un inukshuk de 6,1 m, érigé pour souligner le centre géographique du pays. Une photo de groupe a été prise et on peut y apercevoir le flambeau et ses porteurs au sommet de l’inukshuk.
